- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile information those services provide.
- Task Data: The quests, subtasks, descriptions, scheduled times, and other content you create within the app.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the app, including features used, quest completion patterns, and gamification statistics (XP, levels, streaks, coins).
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, and timezone settings for proper functionality.
- Subscription Information: If you purchase a premium subscription, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not collect or store your payment card details.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Sidequests app
- Sync your quests and data across your devices
- Calculate and track gamification features (XP, levels, streaks, coins)
- Process and manage your premium subscription status
- Send notifications you have opted into (e.g., streak reminders)
- Respond to your support requests
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption for all communications, hashed passwords, and JWT-based authentication. Your task data is also cached locally on your device for offline access.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- RevenueCat: To manage subscription billing and entitlements across platforms. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user ID and subscription status.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: For payment processing and subscription management. Subject to their respective privacy policies.
- Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple: For authentication, if you choose to use these sign-in methods.
Data Retention
We retain your account and task data for as long as your account is active. Completed quests are retained for your historical reference. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data from our servers within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your task data
- Opt out of non-essential notifications
Children's Privacy
Sidequests is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of Sidequests after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
